Comicology TV is a weekly newsmagazine format television show covering new and upcoming releases of comic strips, comic books, animation, and sci fi/fantasy television and films. News, interviews, clips, and recommendations make up the largest percentage of show content. Our goal is to address the psychology, sociology, and mythology of comics in pop culture in an all-inclusive format.

Comicology TV is designed for all ages’ viewing. Our core demographic is males 18-35, although the primary focus of the show is to expand the audience for this type of material. Programming emphasis is placed on both female and minority creators and artists.

Comicology TV prides itself on creating a sense of community by featuring local artists and events as well as student and independent short films.

Our NEWS segment covers advance notice of upcoming animated films, comic book events, sci fi and fantasy film and television in development, future toy and gaming releases, upcoming events such as conventions or museum exhibits.

PICK OF THE WEEK covers Tuesday DVD releases, Wednesday Comic Book and Graphic Novel releases and the weekend Film releases. It also includes mentions of new Toys on the shelf, TCG releases, as well as animation and Sci Fi/Fantasy episodes on television, video game releases, and comic strip happenings in both the newspaper and on the Internet.

CLIP OF THE WEEK features student and independent short films, animations, humorous sketches, and songs relating to the genre.

The ARTIST INTERVIEW segment focuses on creating an oral, living history of artists, writers, actors, directors, designers, and creators in all of the aforementioned fields. Each guest is asked to discuss how they got into their field, who their influences were/are, discuss past, present and future work, and whenever possible to demonstrate for the audience their method of work in order to demystify the process and inform viewers interested in pursuing their field of expertise. We also focus on promoting and discussing the current and upcoming projects of the artist, as well as appearances, websites, and volumes of work available to the public.

The OUT AND ABOUT segment focuses on places and events around the country or on the Internet that viewers can visit for themselves. Examples include museum exhibits, artist signings and shows, galleries, websites, factory and publishing company tours, and upcoming conventions.

The length of each segment remains flexible from week to week, in order to showcase and highlight the events of the particular week.

Jeff Peters has performed in over 50 feature films, 150 stage productions and over 500 corporate events.

In addition to his stage, television and film work, Jeff Peters is currently the President of Peters’ Productions, an all-media event and entertainment production company whose projects include: The Great Show with David Ledderman© (an industrial extravaganza), Skitz (a sketch comedy tv show), Comicology.TV (a television show about comics and animation), Fatuity (a radio comedy show), and Melvin G. Moose, Toode Dick (a graphic novel). He is currently Executive Producing the feature film, Harmony Gates, and is the owner of Commuter Comics, a full service comic and toy store in South Orange, NJ.

For the past ten years, Jeff Peters has also been the official Dave Letterman look-alike for the Late Show with David Letterman. He has appeared on the Late Show over a forty five times, playing the character Dave calls, “the guy who kinda looks like me”. Jeff ‘s appearances include: standing by backstage as Dave’s understudy “in case anything goes wrong”, closing the show for Dave when he mysteriously went down backstage, presenting a birthday cake to Dave’s Mom in Indiana, being a Dave decoy for assassins, camp counselor at “Dave’s Talk Show Camp For Kids”, acting as the official greeter at The Late Show employee Thanksgiving dinner, portraying Dave at the Grammy’s as a young “Kiss” fan, and skating (with desk and chair) as the star of “The Late Show on Ice”.

Jeff also appears as Dave in Danny Hoch’s independent feature, Jails, Hospitals, and Hip Hop, and portrays the Talk Show Host opposite Paul Giamatti in the film American Splendor which won the Grand Jury Prize for Drama at The Sundance Film Festival and was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay.

When not playing Dave, Jeff Peters has performed in film, television, radio and stage as a wide variety of characters, including (but not limited to): Achilles, Leonardo Da Vinci, Petruchio, Mercutio, Cassio, Borrachio, Leontes, Autolycus, Macbeth, Alceste, Valeré, Mark Twain, Henry Higgins, Don Quixote, Tevye, Dracula, Mozart, Groucho Marx, James Stewart, Humphrey Bogart, Franklin Delano Roosevelt, Ronald Reagan, and Davus Lettermantony.

Comicology.TV is a culmination of Jeff’s career as a performer combined with a life-long love of comic strips, comic books, and animation.

Tom is a graduate of the School of Visual Arts in NYC with a BFA in film and television. He has worked for many years in film and television as a producer/director with such show business talents and companies as Bob Hope, George Burns, Billy Joel, Danny Bonaduce, Kenny Rogers, Telemundo, Hill Theater Studios, and Mobilcolor Productions. He has worked in various capacities in film and television for such films and television movies as Ghostbusters II, 12 Monkeys, Philadelphia, Kojak, and many others.

Since 1989, he has also owned and operated his own film and video production company, Flipbook Pictures Inc., producing and editing many film and television projects, infomercials, and corporate video’s for organizations including CEMF (Children’s Emergency Medical Fund), and the McGraw Hill Companies. He has worked on many documentaries as well including one on the Desilu Studios and the life stories of Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz. He is having the time of his life working with Jeff Peters while combining his love of comic books & science fiction, with his profession of film and television production.
